Lovage, Levisticum officinale, is a tall perennial plant tasting of a mixture of parsley and celery. Can grow to 6-8 feet tall! The leaves and young stems are good for soups and salads or as a tea or garnish. All parts of lovage are edible! The seeds can be used as a spice, similar to fennel seeds. Lovage is high in Quercetin a plant flavonoid that has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Give plenty of space and rich, deep soil with plenty of moisture. Full sun to partial shade. Harvest 85 to 95 days from seed.

Lovage Planting Instructions:
Direct sowing in late spring when soil temperatures have warmed to 60 degrees F, sow seeds on the surface of your soil and cover with a dusting of soil/sand. If choosing to start seeds indoors, start 6 to 8 weeks before the last danger of frost has passed.Transplant outdoors with 2 to 3 foot spacing and 2 to 3 feet between rows once the plants are hardened.
Germination: 10 to 20 days at 65 - 70 F.
